Befriending & Support Services in Doncaster

Everyone Deserves to Thrive

At ThriveCare, we believe everyone deserves to live a full and meaningful life

By keeping people connected to their communities, their interests, and themselves, whether it’s a helping hand with the basics, companionship, or support to get out and stay connected, we’re here to make that possible.

Why ThriveCare?

Caring for a loved one or living with limitations can be challenging. We believe no one should feel isolated, held back, or left to care alone.

At ThriveCare, we work closely with you and your loved ones to tailor a support plan that suits your needs, routines, and preferences.

The whole of Doncaster

All of our Support Workers are DBS checked, hold business-use vehicle insurance for carrying passengers and maintain individual public liability insurance.

We accept private payments and funding. Please ask for more information on funding options and eligibility.

Our Befriending and home support service is £26 per hour paid privately (minimum of two hours) inclusive of fuel/mileage. We also offer day trips, event chaperone and holiday support; a personalised quote will be discussed to suit your needs.

Funding is available, subject to assessment. We guide you through the process.

There are two main routes:

1. Local authority funding

After a care needs and financial assessment, your council may provide a personal budget. This is the amount they allocate for your care.

You can choose how it is managed:

  • Council managed – the council arranges care for you
  • Third-party managed – a trusted person or organisation manages it
  • Direct payments – you receive the funds and arrange your own care, including choosing your provider

2. Self-funded care

You can pay for care yourself. This can be your main option or used to top up council-funded support if it does not meet your needs.

We help you build a plan that fits your lifestyle and budget.

Yes, absolutely. Our befrienders are happy to attend appointments with you, and if the timing is outside your usual visit, we’ll do our best to arrange support.

We do our best to match you with a befriender whose interests and personality align with yours. However, we understand that this isn’t always a perfect fit, and if you feel the match
isn’t right, we are more than happy to arrange a more suitable befriender for you where
available.
